Christmas Dinner — Westport Cooperative Services
Problem: Seniors home alone on Christmas Day.
Solution: The 32nd Annual Christmas Day Dinner provides a family style traditional dinner and social for over 400 seniors, including holiday music, delicious leftovers and Christmas fruit to take home along with a gift — transportation provided.
For 32 years, retired police officer Richard White has hosted a very special Christmas Day Dinner and Social for seniors and disabled who would otherwise be alone on Christmas Day.
Westport Cooperative Services is happy to be the agency sponsor of this event, one of many partners, which includes the Kansas City Area Transit Authority and about 200 volunteers—including local chefs who prepare a traditional Christmas dinner.
In 2008, our annual Christmas Day Dinner was attended by more than 400 seniors from around Kansas City.
